Book Sales and Covers
Many readers say that the first thing that draws them to a book is the cover. My question is do people on the cover or objects garner the same response?

I have to agree with Christine. Often the characters on the book are so far from what's inside that it can actually be distracting. For the most part I really look for books either by category, or by author name or a book that has been recommended by a friend.
For me it depends of the cover jumps out at me from the shelf I pick it up and read the synopsis if its a book I have heard about but the cover isn't what I am interesting in I still look over the synopsis. For me the synopsis is everything.
The artistry of the cover may intially draw me to the book, I like bright colors etc . In the end when I read the book summary that's what really draws me to the book.

It's a toss up for me. It depends. The cover whether it's people or objects has to be eye-appealing.
